I’ll Miss Ye, Doni! G.

this from dcrtv.com today:

Geronimo “Fired” From WOCM - 8/4 - A DCRTVer tells us: From the lady who answered the business line at WOCM, Ocean City, “Don Geronimo is no longer with Ocean 98.” Earlier, we reported that the DC area radio veteran and former WJFK-FMer did not do his oldies show at 1 PM today. Says the mysterious Mr. Sorce: “They fired me for talking too much and adlibbing during live reads. Oh, and I wanted more than $10 an hour. All true, gotta love radio… Next move maybe sooner before later… but I did have fun for a month”…..

Ahhhhhhh… what incredibly sad news. Don Geronimo will no longer be broadcast on WOCM. I wonder where he will go next. Until then, I’ll fly the flags at half-mast for the end of interesting, fun radio from 1-3pm every day.

Sometimes … life becomes so incredibly sweet & fun!

Starting July 7th, 2008, from 1pm to 3pm, Don Geronimo, the man, the myth, a Radio God…… nah, The Radio God, joins my favorite radio station WOCM to spin records once again on his Don Geronimo Rockin’ Soul Show… and play “music that doesn’t suck”.

Download the .mp3 of Don’s 6/24/08 radio interview about his comeback here. Read about it here.

He is soooooo famous!!! …and he loves Ocean City, MD. So give it a listen and let’s see if he can “make the needle move a little bit in Ocean City”.

The Sopranos

It’s two weeks before the final episode of The Sopranos airs. So I, not knowing yet how the end will play out, can only hope and pray for Tony and his family to get out of this series alive. Tony, scoop up your family in that big, long, black coat of yours and fly South… for a lifetime. Fly, fly, fly away, just like the ducks. Say g’bye to New Jersey for good. This I wish, until the final episode breathes it’s last breath and their fates are revealed.

Renewal

This site was renewed just before expiration on May 17, 2007. Another year to play. Yes.

Enom was so helpful with the renewal this week. E. Flores, who works at Enom and who I had many email and telephone contacts with, helped me immensly with the authorization key needed to transfer and renew this site. Dear Ms. Flores, I send you one million thank you’s. I’m going to directly deal with Enom now, and manage everything myself. No more resellers for me.

On the other hand, where as Enom was as good as gold, N. < - - a reseller who held my registrar rights for silywily.com (up until May 17, 2007 @ 22:37:47), acted like a complete troupe of Circus Clowns. They never did respond to any of my emails or phone calls. As the time inched closer to expiration and my anxiety increased about this site going bottom-uppers, they replied with a continual bombardment of Silent Nothings, No Emails and Thumbs In Their Ears and Eyes. I feel so bad for how far their customer service has fallen, I’m not even able to spell out their full business name in this post, therefore just an “N.”. When ALL the workers in a business simultaneously suffer debilitating brain injuries that render them no more than dancing Circus Clowns, I feel bad.

I know this site isn’t in the top rankings — 3,982,291 according to Alexa — but silywily.com is very important to me. This place has been home for 5 years. It twirled the propeller in my beanie furiously, to sit and watch my site expire due to the non-action of a group of clowns with big floppy feet and red balls on their noses.

Now, on to something more noble, IMO. The man in the picture below isn’t a Circus Clown and never was. Well, maybe just a tiny bit in those Priceline commercials for which he was probably getting paid a million or so. Witness below a fine inspirational poster and the greatest Captain of the Enterprise evah:
